Hawaii

I loved everything about Hawaii, and longed to preserve all the tiki-torch kitsch. But the modern Hawaii, in the midst of a touristic crisis and an economy in ruins, is resisting every effort to preserve it's 50s past by neglect, and is tearing everything down it can from the glory days.

At least the royal Hawaiian is still left, a true gem from the days of slow Ocean Liners and big fat Pan Am airplanes that carried the first tourists to the most isolated islands in the world.
